Niobium hoop earrings with handmade bundle wrap beads. I have anodized each little bundle to be a different color, creating its own subtle gradient color - from Yellow to Gold to Pink. The beads are free floating, so will slide to the bottom even if the hoops tilt. I have also anodized the hoop earrings on the same range of colors for a truly stunning effect. These beautiful earrings are 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) in diameter.
The natural color of niobium is dark gray. The colors in
anodized niobium are achieved by running an electric current through the finished jewelry. I can change the color of the outer layer of the metal, because different voltages introduce gradually thicker layers of niobium oxide. I do all of my own anodizing in-house on my own equipment.
